The beA inbox (navigation item BeA) is the daily working view for the special electronic attorney mailbox (besonderes elektronisches Anwaltspostfach): all incoming and outgoing messages for the beA registered to your account, including managing the electronic acknowledgment of receipt (eEB) – which you can submit directly here. You set up the technical connection (SAFE-ID, certificate) once under Set up beA mailboxes – here you work with it day to day.

Relationship to the central inbox

beA messages arrive in two places: they appear here in the beA inbox and also in the central inbox, which pools all communication channels. The exception is personal/confidential messages – these land only here in the beA inbox, not in the central inbox that multiple people can view.

Inbox & outbox

Use the Outbox button to switch between received and sent messages. Two banners flag special cases:

  • Ignored messages – messages skipped by the system; use Discard to hide them permanently.
  • Failed messages – messages DEPLAW could not import, for example because the beA delivered an unexpected format. This case is also shown here visibly, instead of silently discarding the message.

eEB – submit the electronic acknowledgment of receipt directly

A large part of beA traffic concerns the eEB: the electronic confirmation that a document has been received. If an eEB is pending, you submit it directly from this view – without a detour through the Federal Bar’s beA web interface. Three quick filters help you keep track:

Filter Shows
All messages with a pending eEB messages for which an acknowledgment of receipt is still due.
All beA messages the entire beA traffic.
All eEB messages only the eEB-related messages.

The Properties column tags every message with pills like Incoming, Unprocessed, and beA-eEB – so the processing status is immediately clear.
