app.dep.lawEvery processing step on a case is logged automatically and immutably in DEPLAW – from a workflow that was started, through a claim that was created, to a document that was uploaded. This makes it possible at any time to trace, without gaps, who worked on a case and when, without having to maintain a separate logging system for it.
Why immutable logging matters in an enterprise setting
For law firms and legal expense insurers with high case volumes, robust, tamper-proof documentation of every processing step is often not a nice-to-have but a requirement: as evidence of a functioning quality management system, for internal audits, to satisfy regulatory obligations, or to establish a defense if a firm is accused of a breach of duty in a dispute. A log file that can be altered after the fact does not meet these requirements – the history has to be recorded so that it can no longer be changed.
One entry per event, searchable by type
Every entry is assigned to one of several categories – for example workflow start and end, individual completed workflow tasks, newly created claims, or uploaded files. This makes it possible to filter a case’s history for the relevant type of event, instead of working through an unstructured list of every event. For handing off to a review or audit, the filtered or complete history can be exported directly.

Who, what, when
Every entry records the responsible user and the exact timestamp down to the second. Subsequently altering or deleting individual entries is not possible.
