Workflow Editor
The visual editor in the BPMN 2.0 standard. Every node is executable logic – from beA classification through AI steps to batch dispatch. No code, no IT department.
Every incoming beA message means the same routine at many law firms and insurers: open, read, classify, assign, process, send. The Workflow Editor replaces this manual routine with a process that is modeled once and then executed automatically, in the BPMN 2.0 standard – the cross-industry standard for process modeling.
Conditions as a Formula, Not Code
At every gateway, a condition written in FEEL (Friendly Enough Expression Language) decides how a case proceeds – for example forderungshoehe > 5000 or frist_in_tagen <= 3. Understandable to lawyers, precise enough for machine execution, without anyone having to write code.
Service Tasks Connect Every Step to the Outside World
A single node in the workflow can be more than an internal processing step: as a service task, it can trigger AI classification, send via beA, call an external specialist system, or connect a custom integration. The workflow itself remains the central control layer, traceable for every case – no matter how many systems are involved behind the scenes. More on gateways, trigger types, and service tasks in detail: Workflows (BPMN).
01
Model visually
Drag tasks, gateways, and events onto the canvas — in the BPMN 2.0 standard. What you draw becomes executable logic.

02
Trigger automatically
Time- and event-based triggers start the process on their own — no step needs to be kicked off manually. Freely combinable, linked with conditions.
Deadline expiry · beA inbox · Rules
03
Orchestrate AI
AI runs as an auditable step in the workflow — with clear inputs and outputs, never as an isolated tool. Controlled and reproducible.
Anonymized · Human-in-the-loop
04
Connected to every system
Any node can call an external system as a service task — beA dispatch, a specialist system, or a custom integration. The workflow remains the central control layer, traceable for every case.

Trigger
Four ways to trigger a workflow.
A workflow doesn't only start manually: an event like a beA intake, a point in time like a deadline check, or a fulfilled condition can trigger it automatically too. Which trigger type fits a given process is a business decision — not a technical one.
Event
beA intake & status change
An incoming beA message, a new document, or a changed case status kicks off the process automatically.
Time
Deadlines & follow-ups
A deadline, a scheduled follow-up, or a fixed interval triggers the workflow at exactly the right moment — no manual reminder needed.
Condition
Rule & threshold
Once a business rule is met — say, a claim amount is exceeded — the matching follow-up process starts automatically.
Manual
Start with a click
When a deliberate decision is needed, the case handler starts the process themselves — the same process, just triggered manually.
Building Blocks & Templates
Assemble once, reuse as a template.
Building blocks like a note, an AI-drafted filing, or a beA dispatch are assembled into a process via drag & drop. Save common patterns as a ready-made template — and deploy a complete workflow for the next case with a single click.
Example · Demand letter
One workflow, run through automatically four times.
From case creation to follow-up, the same modeled process runs — without a case handler manually triggering every step.
Active routing by area of law
One process, thousands of cases
One workflow. The entire case volume.
The same modeled logic decides, generates, and sends — for every case, with its own individual log.
