The Placeholders tab shows all case-related values that DEPLAW automatically inserts into letters, documents, and forms — for example the client’s name and address or the court case number.
Structure
- Placeholders are grouped hierarchically (e.g.
MANDANT › ANSCHRIFT › STRASSE). Use the arrows to expand and collapse groups. - On the right, you see the current value of the selected placeholder for this case.
- The search field finds a placeholder by its name.
- + Add placeholder creates your own case-specific placeholder.
Automating placeholders
Placeholders are also the variables of a workflow: anything a workflow produces as a variable in UPPERCASE_WITH_UNDERSCORES appears immediately here in this tab — and conversely, any change to a placeholder flows back into the running workflow (see Variable Concept).
This lets you create, calculate, and change placeholders as you like, without calling an actual function:
- In the editor, you use the “Empty ServiceTask” and specify a header for each placeholder.
- If the value starts with
=, it is evaluated as a FEEL expression — this lets you calculate deadlines, totals, or RVG/GKG fees, for example, and write the result directly into a placeholder.
