Batch processing starts one workflow for many cases at once. The settings offer two tabs for this, each with a different purpose.

Principle: First narrow down the cases by criteria, review the hit list – then start the same workflow for every matching case.

Batch Processing (manual)

The Workflow Batch Processing tab lets you filter cases by specific criteria, display the matches as a list, and start a workflow for these cases if needed.

  1. Filter

    Set the criteria used to select the cases.

  2. Review

    Check the hit list before triggering anything.

  3. Start

    Start the workflow for the filtered cases.

Batch-Start (rule-based & throttled)

The Workflow Batch-Start tab lets you start a workflow for a case list. The rule is triggered every two minutes; you configure how many workflows should run concurrently and how many should be started concurrently, to control the system load.

Setting Purpose
Case list Which cases are included in the batch start
Concurrently running Upper limit of parallel workflow instances
Concurrently starting How many are newly started per interval (every 2 min.)
