Under Settings → User Account → Phone you connect a softphone via SIP. This lets you make and receive calls directly from within DEPLAW; phone inquiries also feed into your stats.
What is the VoIP client?
VoIP (Voice over IP) means telephony over the internet instead of a traditional phone line. DEPLAW’s VoIP client is a softphone — a phone as software that runs entirely natively in the browser: no additional program, no plug-in, no separate server. You make calls directly from the interface you’re already working in.
| Property | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Optional module | Telephony is an add-on module — if it isn’t booked, this area simply doesn’t appear. |
| Doesn’t replace a phone system | The client connects to your existing phone system rather than replacing it. Incoming and outgoing calls continue to run through your system. |
| No extra server, very lightweight | Since only a SIP extension is connected, no additional infrastructure is needed on your end — setup stays lightweight. |
| Cloud phone system possible | The SIP credentials can come from a cloud phone system, for example; an existing on-premise system with SIP extensions works equally well. |
Connection status & controls
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Status | current connection state (e.g. Connecting, Available). |
| Phone active | turns telephony on or off for your account. |
| Restart phone | re-establishes the SIP connection — helpful in case of issues. |
| Import settings | imports SIP credentials from a configuration of your phone system. |
| Export analysis data | exports technical connection data (logs) for troubleshooting – even when the phone isn’t running and across restarts. |
Stability & warnings
The phone monitors its connection itself and speaks up before a call suffers:
- Unstable internet connection – the phone warns as soon as the line becomes shaky.
- Browser stuttering – an overloaded browser session is flagged too, because it can affect call quality.
- Connection loss – if the link between the browser tab and the phone running in the background drops, the phone restarts itself instead of staying in an unclear state.
- Error messages – say more precisely what is wrong, so your IT or our support can help faster.

| Authorizing username | the login name the extension authenticates with. |
